SHCS Principal, Mr. Daniel Breen, updates the Sacred Heart school community on construction progress and outlines some goals for the forthcoming school year.
“It’s a big year for Sacred Heart, as we will graduate our 60th class this spring, even as we anticipate a beautiful Cathedral.
The renovation of the 100 wing is going great. We are on schedule. All the 100 wing work is internal, so there are no weather delays to worry about. In September, we will have wonderful new learning spaces and amenities.
Work outside the school will be continuing for a long time, naturally. Our teachers met with the superintendent of the Cathedral construction project, and we talked about how we can use the Cathedral project as a learning tool for our students this year. For instance, allowing them to be “project managers”, learning how to plan the drawings for the structure, how to construct a building of this magnitude, what kinds of engineering should be applied, and much more. It will be a unifying experience for the whole school!
There will be more information coming in the weeks ahead as we anticipate the start of school on September 8th. Enjoy the rest of your summer!”
