SHCS… So Happy to Collaborate at School! We love our volunteers and appreciate their help! Volunteers were a big help as third graders painted globes on pumpkins..combining social studies curriculum with seasonal fun in a creative way! Classroom help is always needed; consider volunteering. Contact your child’s homeroom teacher!
8th Grade Guidance
School counselor Mrs. Maxa delivered a great lesson to eighth graders on bullying. Using the online tool Socrative, students answered questions on bullying and were able to see the class’s responses. Mrs. Maxa presented them with Catholic teaching on the dignity of the human person as the lens through which we should consider our behavior towards others. Timeless precepts taught with modern technology!
2nd Grade Centers
One student was reading a story about animals. A group of students were looking through books to find text and graphic features that help us when reading. Some students were writing. The last group was working on math facts at our iPad center.
Middle School Technology Class
8th grade Technology Elective class with Mrs. Erwin began the year by learning about digital rendering. Using Google Sketchup and Tinkercad students created a variety of buildings and objects while learning about computer design principles. Students were challenged for their final project to create a version of the future Cathedral.
