ABOUT SHCS : SCHOOL DEMOGRAPHICS

Sacred Heart Cathedral School is a co-educational elementary and middle school operated under the supervision of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Knoxville. We offer a diverse academic program, complemented by an exceptional co-curriculum of fine arts, athletics, and youth campus ministry.

Our quality Catholic education is designed to allow students to develop to their fullest potential in mind, body and spirit. Experienced and innovative teachers inspire students through both independent

and collaborative learning so they may develop the analytical thinking, creativity and strong moral code needed for a lifetime of personal growth and success.

The enrollment of 2006-2007 was 622 students in grades Kindergarten through 8 with a student/teacher ratio of 18:1. SHCS admits students of any race, color, or national or ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school.

Additionally, SHCS employs a Hispanic liaison, serving as a link between the school and the home. The liaison works with Spanish-speaking parents, translating and communicating information for and to the school on behalf of the student, the family and the school.
