Mrs. Prater joined Sacred Heart Cathedral School as Principal in 2004, bringing over 10 years of experience in Catholic education. She began at SHCS as an 8th grade teacher in 1997, moving to Vice Principal from 1999-2003. Mrs. Prater has a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and a Master of Education in Administration and Supervision, both from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville.

Mr. McCleary obtained his Masters degree in Educational Psychology in 2003 from Tennessee Technological University. Mr. McCleary's professional experience originated in the counseling field starting with Eckerd Family Youth Alternatives and progressing into management with Peninsula Behavioral Health. Last year, Mr. McCleary served at Sacred Heart Cathedral School as the school counselor. Mr. McCleary received his first communion at Sacred Heart Cathedral in 1976.

The SHCS faculty and support staff has grown to 85 including specialists in art, music, health, technology, foreign language, library science, liturgy, physical education, drama, and band. 25 teachers hold advanced degrees. The SHCS staff also consists of 7 teaching assistants, staff psychologist, guidance counselor, youth minister, Hispanic liaison, communications and development and Young Folks after-school program.
