The SHCS School Board serves as an advisory board to the pastor and principal of Sacred Heart Cathedral School. The SHCS School Board is comprised of voting members consisting of parents, alumni, parents of alumni, school staff, administrators, pastors of Sacred Heart and parishioners from subsidizing parishes. The term of commitment is three years.

The mission statement of the School Board is:
"Sacred Heart Cathedral School, in union with the parents and parish community, is dedicated to living and teaching service, worship, and ministry so that these values will become their way of life within and ever changing society. Recognizing the uniqueness and potential of our students, we aspire to academic excellence through a curriculum which promotes spiritual, intellectual, social, emotional, and physical growth."
The School Board members must have an interest (and a commitment to) Catholic education and the school’s philosophy and mission. Meetings take place the first Thursday of each month from 5:30-7:00pm in the school library.
