Very Reverend David A. Boettner, V.G., Rector

Fr. David Boettner was ordained in May 1994. He has served as Associate Pastor of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Chattanooga, Associate Pastor of Sacred Heart Cathedral, Pastor of St. Mary Church in Athens, and most recently as Pastor of St. Thomas the Apostle in Lenoir City. Currently he is assigned to the Chancery as Vicar General and Moderator of the Curia and the pastor at Sacred Heart. He holds a Bachelor of Arts from St. Meinrad and a Master of Divinity degree from St. Mary of the Lake.


Reverend Joe Reed, Associate Pastor

Father Joe was born in Knoxville in July 1974 and grew up in our Sacred Heart parish. While in seminary he entered Conception Abbey, where he was a Benedictine brother for ten years before being ordained to the priesthood. Fr. Joe has taught in the seminary college, offered spiritual direction, and assisted with parish and Newman Center ministry. Fr. Joe is discerning a call to minister as a parish priest in the Diocese of Knoxville, and is assigned as an associate pastor at Sacred Heart.

 

Reverend Arthur Torres, Associate Pastor

Fr. Arthur was born in Cali, Columbia and studied at Sacred Heart School of Theology in Wisconsin. Fr. Arthur was ordained for the Diocese of Knoxville December 5, 2012 at St. Mary’s in Johnson City, TN and will be ordained to the priesthood on December 14, 2013. Sarah Trent, Principal

Sarah Trent, SHCS Principal, has over 20 years of educational experience most recently as Assistant Principal at Holy Family Catholic School in Jacksonville, FL. Mrs. Trent was also the Academic Dean and Director of Learning Resources at Bishop Kenny High School. She holds a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership, a Master of Education in Learning Disabilities, and a Bachelor of Science in Education.


Lisa Maki, Assistant Principal

Mrs. Maki celebrated her 15th year at Sacred Heart most recently as a fourth grade teacher. Mrs. Maki will be Assistant Principal beginning with the 2013-14 school year. She is certified by the State Department of Education in the Tennessee State Framework for Evaluation and Professional Growth. She holds her degree from Kent State with a dual certification in Special Education in Hearing Impaired and Elementary Education. She is a Professional Certified Catechist through the Diocese of Knoxville and is also seeking an advanced degree in Education Administration and Leadership.

 

 

Sacred Heart Staff


The SHCS faculty and support staff has grown to 87 including specialists in art, music, health, technology, foreign language, library science, liturgy, physical education, drama, and band. 27 teachers hold advanced degrees.The SHCS staff also consists of 7 teaching assistants, staff psychologist, two school counselors, youth minister, Hispanic liaison, communications, development and the Young Folks after-school program.
