2nd Grade Spelling Bee Winners

Sacred Heart Cathedral School is committed to delivering a comprehensive and progressive academic program that meets the needs of all of our students. Our curriculum is designed to prepare students for high school and beyond.

SHCS is a member of the National Catholic Education Association (NCEA) and accredited by:

• Tennessee Department of Education
• Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS)
• Roman Catholic Diocese of Knoxville
  

Our school is on a semester system with two quarters per semester. The daily schedule begins at 7:55 AM and ends at 3:05 PM for grades 1-4 and 3:25 PM for grades 5-8. The Kindergarten day begins at 7:55 AM and concludes at 2:00 PM.

Middle school students attend six classes per day and an enrichment class is offered one day per week to enhance the standard curriculum. Grades 6-8 use a rotating schedule system for an optimum learning environment.

There are study rooms from 3:05p.m. to 3:25p.m. for younger students that need to wait for an older sibling or carpool. There is also after-school care from 3:05p.m. to 6:00p.m. offered through our Young Folks program.

SHCS uses Edline, an online communication system, to provide individual course information and assignments. Parents and students open separate Edline accounts to view information and to contact instructors.
