Sacred Heart Young Folks Program is a paid service, which encompasses many programs. Young Folks offers:
- Before School Care: 7:00 - 7:30am. for grades K - 8
- Extended Care: 2:00 - 3:00pm for kindergartners
- After School Care dismissal: 6:00pm for grades K -8
- Non-School Day Supervision: 7:00am - 6:00 PM for grades K - 8
Young Folks operates year round. Activities include field trips, supervised study, computer, sports, and arts and crafts. |
Each area allows students to enjoy time as children. Young Folks provides a safe, encouraging environment where students can play, be creative and build relationships. |

Mr. Chris Gilliland is the Director of the Young Folks program at Sacred Heart Cathedral School and has been here eight years. He is a graduate of the University of Tennessee Knoxville with a degree in Psychology and a minor in Business Administration. “Mr. Chris” believes it is the relationships between the staff and students that really sets Young Folks apart. The focus of Young Folks is the students, their safety and overall well-being. Mr. Chris’ philosophy is “Personal Responsibility” and adheres to the scripture passage 1 Timothy 4:12, “Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith, and in purity.”
Additionally, the Young Folks Summer Camp program provides quality care for students of working parents while also providing opportunities for the students to enjoy their summer vacation. We have outdoor activities, arts and crafts, free-play, field trips including swimming, roller-skating, bowling, Putt-Putt, movies, Knoxville Zoo, indoor inflatables, etc.
