Dear Sacred Heart Cathedral School Family,
In a few short days, we will be pausing from our normal busy school and work schedules to celebrate Thanksgiving Day. It is a wonderful time to gather together with family and friends and enjoy good food and fellowship. But Thanksgiving is more than that –it’s a time to reflect and give thanks to God for all the many blessings in our lives. Chief among these blessings are our children, as well as the gift of the quality Catholic education they are able to receive here at Sacred Heart Cathedral School. Indeed, there is much for which we are grateful.
But our Christian faith teaches us that to whom much is given, much is also required. The cost of a Catholic education is primarily covered by the support of the Cathedral Parish as well as each student’s tuition. But the financial needs of our school are often greater than can be met through these channels. For that reason, we have an Annual Fund that is responsible for many enhancements and improvements to our school.
In the past, we have had Annual Fund campaigns tied to specific projects and needs. While these campaigns have improved many different areas of the school, it has sometimes been difficult for the School Advisory Board and the Administration to anticipate changing and urgent needs. This year, we have decided to conduct an unrestricted Annual Fund campaign in order to give us the flexibility to address the greatest needs of our school in a timelier manner.
The successful Annual Fund campaign is measured by more than just money – it’s also measured by participation. Annual Fund monies are designed to help every student in every area of the school. Every family, then, has a stake in our Annual Fund. Every gift, regardless of the amount, is welcomed and needed. Last year, 281 donors out of the 458 families at Sacred Heart Cathedral School contributed to the Annual Fund.
This year, our goal is 100% participation from all SHCS families!
Last year, the entire faculty and staff of the school, as well as the entire School Advisory Board, participated in the Annual Fund. At our most recent Board meeting, we again unanimously committed ourselves to participation in the 2011-2012 Annual Fund. We invite you to join us in this year’s campaign. Your gift can be pledged and paid over time.
Every gift is needed. Every gift counts. Every gift will make a difference.
Thank you for your generous support!
