Principal Breen Attends Dedication of New Cathedral
A Message from Principal Dan Breen:
It’s 10 AM and I have arrived at the Cathedral of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus for the first ever Mass: The dedication Mass at 12 o’clock. I have to admit that I am excited like a kid on Christmas today (hence the early arrival) and I think our 500 students in grades k-8 will feel that way on Monday! What a joy and privilege! This is not only a landmark moment that symbolizes the growth of Catholicism in East Tennessee but also a demonstration of the faith of this diocese and Parish community. Our Cathedral is also an unbelievable gift to the children of our parish school. This is a day that perfectly encompasses our school motto of faith, family and future!
This last transition is the sweetest: the transition from our old cathedral where we celebrated about 2000 all school Masses as a community, to our new home, where we will celebrate our first Mass on Monday. I thank all of you, our entire school community, for your patience through the changes of the past few years. It has been well worth the wait. God is good and faithful!
