I am so excited to welcome these new teachers and staff members. Each of them is gifted with talents and abilities that will be assets to our school and a blessing to our school community!
Our theme for this year, LET ME BE AS CHRIST TO YOU, is taken from Luke 22:26:
“…the greatest among you must become like the youngest, and the leader like the one who serves.”
Scripture has a lot to teach us. Jesus was humble. Jesus was selfless. When He washed the feet of the disciples, He showed us that we must serve one another. This year we will focus on being Christ to one another through humility, selflessness, and service. My prayer is that in our most challenging times this year, we will humble ourselves, we will act in selfless ways that put others’ needs before our own, and that we will truly be of service to one another. I know that through these actions, our own lives will be blessed.
I’d like to give a big THANK YOU to our faculty and staff as they work tirelessly getting their rooms ready for our students. The facilities staff have been working throughout the summer to get the school clean, reoriented, and reorganized for the start of school. Office and parish staff have worked diligently to plan and schedule exciting events for our students and their families. Thank you, one and all!
Finally, I want to say THANK YOU to our parents and families for the never-ending support you give. It makes an incredible difference as we work together to help our students grow in mind, body, and spirit.
Together in faith, family, and future! Together in Christ!
Looking Ahead: This year, the first day of school falls on a First Friday. Students in grades 3-8 should wear their “dress uniform” each First Friday.
This year we will have Spirit Day every Wednesday. To help build our spirit and support SHCS, students may wear any Sacred Heart t-shirt, jersey, or jacket with their uniform bottoms. GO EAGLES!
See our Detailed Calendar for important upcoming dates and events.
In Christ,
Mary Sue Kosky
SHCS Principal
