The start of a new school year is always a sacred and joy-filled moment — a time of fresh beginnings, renewed energy, and great hope for what lies ahead. I am thrilled to welcome you to the 2025–2026 school year at SHCS!
Our theme this year, “Thy Will Be Done,” reminds us daily that we are not just educating minds but forming hearts to follow God’s plan with trust, courage, and joy. As we embark on this new chapter together, we commit ourselves to doing His will through our words, our work, and our witness.
I am beyond grateful for the incredible team of teachers and staff who have dedicated themselves to preparing for this year. Their passion, creativity, and commitment to Catholic education are nothing short of inspiring. Your children are in wonderful hands, and I cannot wait to see all that they will accomplish and become under our collective care.
A few important reminders as we prepare for the first day of school on Thursday, August 7th:
- School begins at 7:55 AM.
- Students must be in their classroom by 7:55 AM to avoid receiving a tardy.
- Students may be dropped off at the Cathedral Hall from 7:00 to 7:45 AM.
- Please use the north entrance only when dropping off between 7:00 and 7:30 AM. Beginning at 7:30 AM until the start of school, students may also be dropped off in the Columbarium (south) lot. Staff will be on hand to welcome and guide students safely into the building.
- Dismissal is at 1:00 PM for 1st through 8th-grade students. Little Eagles and Kindergarten students attending staggered days will be dismissed at 12:00 PM.
- Club Eagle will be available for those needing after-school care.
- Please review the attached arrival/dismissal map and procedures ahead of Thursday to ensure a smooth first day.
We are so excited to see your children’s smiling faces walk through our doors and fill our school with the joy of learning and growing in faith. Thank you for entrusting us with the great privilege of helping guide them on this journey. Together, we are doing God’s work — and what a blessing that is.
With joy and prayers for a grace-filled year,
Valerie Hanks
