Listening Sessions

Aug 17, 2026

Dear Sacred Heart Cathedral School Parents,

As I begin my ministry as Rector of the Cathedral of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, I want to express my gratitude for the warm welcome I have received from our community.  It is a tremendous blessing to be part of Sacred Heart.

Over the past six weeks, I have intentionally spent time learning about our Cathedral parish, our school, and the many people who make this community so special. I continue to be amazed by all of the activities, ministries, programs, and opportunities that take place across our church and school campus each and every day. The dedication of our faculty, staff, parents, volunteers, and students truly inspires me.

Now that the school year is underway, I believe that it is important for me to hear directly from you. Listening is an essential part of leadership, and authentic listening builds community. When we actively listen to one another, we show respect and love. I want to better understand what makes our Sacred Heart Cathedral School such a remarkable place, as well as where we can continue to grow and improve together.

In addition to the post-orientation listening sessions that have already been announced, I would like to invite parents to join me for a series of grade-level listening sessions. Beginning Thursday, August 20, I invite you to bring your lunch and join me from 12- 1 p.m. in Cathedral Hall for an informal conversation.

These gatherings will be an opportunity for open dialogue as I continue to learn about our school community. More importantly, they will allow me to hear your perspectives, celebrate what we do well, and identify ways we can all work together to make Sacred Heart even stronger as we move forward.

If you have children in multiple grade levels, please attend the session that best fits your schedule. No RSVP is necessary. Quite simply, I am opening the doors of Cathedral Hall so that I can learn about you and learn from you.
