Dear SHCS Families,
As we close out the first quarter, my heart is overflowing with gratitude for the gift of this community. From our littlest learners in preschool to our 8th graders preparing to take their next steps, Sacred Heart Cathedral School is a place where God’s presence is felt daily—in the classrooms, on the playground, and in the joy and laughter of your children. I am humbled and blessed to share this journey with you.
Scripture reminds us: “As each one has received a gift, use it to serve one another as good stewards of God’s varied grace.” — 1 Peter 4:10. Each of you—parents, teachers, and students—brings unique gifts to SHCS, and together those gifts create the vibrant, faith-filled family that makes our school so special. I want to especially thank our preschool families and teachers, who bring such joy, energy, and warmth to our school community. The foundation of faith and love built in those earliest years shines through and blesses all of us.
As we head into Fall Break, I pray it is a time of rest and renewal for your families. When we return, we have a season filled with blessings ahead: Fall Festival, Trunk-or-Treat, Book Character Dress-Up Day, and upcoming feast days—including our Kindergarten Saints’ Day procession—followed by Thanksgiving, Advent, and our LE–4th Grade Christmas Performance. Each of these events reminds us of the joy of walking together in faith as we prepare our hearts for the celebration of Christ’s birth.
Thank you for entrusting us with your children—from Preschool through 8th grade. I continue to hold you in prayer and give thanks to God for this beautiful partnership we share.
With gratitude and prayer,
Mrs. Valerie Hanks
SHCS Principal
