From The Principal’s Desk 10/26/2022

Oct 26, 2022

Dear Parents and Families,

I hope that you all are enjoying this beautiful weather and are able to spend some time outside together. My husband and I are trying our best to spend more time on our back porch before the cold weather sets in. We are still able to enjoy the chirping birds and hear the rustle of the leaves in the trees. Too soon, the leaves will all be on the ground, and our time outside will be spent raking them into piles. In any case, God is good and provides us opportunities to spend time together, no matter what we are doing.

I just wanted to share a couple of reminders about our busy week.

Conferences are this Thursday and Friday, October 27-28, and we have a 1:00 pm dismissal on both days.

Club Eagle will be available at the following times:

Thursday, 10/27, 1:00-6:00 pm
Friday, 10/28, 1:00-4:00 pm

Friday is a BIG day at SH school and parish! The school is hosting a FUN Fall Festival from 4:00-6:00 pm in the back lawn/pavilion area, and the Knights of Columbus is hosting the annual Trunk or Treat event in the north parking lot beginning at 6:00 pm. We hope to see you all there!

To accommodate the setup for these events on Friday, both the back gym parking lot and the front section of the north parking lot (closest to the school) will be closed off to traffic after the 1:00 dismissal (see image below). Please park away from the school in the north lot to attend parent/teacher conferences.

Afternoon pickup in the north lot – We are trying to figure out the most efficient way to get everyone through the pickup line in a safe and organized manner. We are going back to how it used to be done many years ago when the number of students at SHCS was even higher than it is today. We hope everyone will be open to our efforts to improve the pickup process. We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we work it out.

In the north lot, please stay in two lines until you get right in front of the school entrance before you turn left to pull up to the curb where your child(ren) climbs into your vehicle. As you make this final turn, please merge into one lane (just like the Chick-fil-A drive-through) and pull forward toward the crosswalk. We know that the more we do this, the better we will get. Thank you again for your patience and support!

Have a blessed week!

In Christ,

Mary Sue Kosky
