Thank you for your participation in our food service surveys and focus group discussions for parents, students, and faculty. Special thanks go to the parents and co-workers who went on the school visits to sample food. The key takeaway which emerged from all of this discussion is that we want our food to reflect the very best we can offer our kids. This means that quality, variety, choice, and affordability should guide our decision-making. Our community also understands how critical food is for the education of our kids: friendships are formed around a lunch-table, quality, healthy food fuels the brain’s development, and a delicious, balanced meal allows our students to flourish in mind and body.
Beginning Monday, November 4th, we will welcome ChefAdvantage to our community. ChefAdvantage is a food service company with a focus on private and independent schools and a commitment to on-site scratch cooking that balances taste and nutrition. They were founded in 1991, are operating in four states, and still, retain their first customer after 28 years of business. Through the extensive process of interviewing companies, visiting schools, and weighing competing proposals, we felt that ChefAdvantage is best able to deliver the quality we want for our students. We also wanted to ensure that folks have as many options as possible and are given the ability to participate within their means.
