About Sacred Heart

Founded in 1956, Sacred Heart Cathedral School is a co-educational Preschool through 8th Grade school operated under the supervision of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Knoxville.

Sacred Heart offers a rigorous and diverse academic curriculum, complemented by an exceptional co-curriculum of fine arts, technology, athletics, and campus ministry to over 600 preschool, elementary and middle school students. It is a ministry of the Cathedral of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, a diverse parish of over 1,800 families located in Knoxville, Tennessee, near the University of Tennessee and the Smoky Mountains, an area with a growing Catholic population.

This is a historic moment in the life of Sacred Heart Cathedral Parish and School. We have recently built a new Cathedral that will serve as the center of worship not only for our parish and school but for the vibrant and growing Catholic community in East Tennessee.
