Very Reverend David A. Boettner, V.G., Rector

Fr. David Boettner is the Rector of Sacred Heart Cathedral and was ordained in May 1994. He also serves as the Vicar General and Moderator of the Curia at the Diocese of Knoxville. He has served as Associate Pastor of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Chattanooga, Associate Pastor of Sacred Heart Cathedral, Pastor of St. Mary Church in Athens, and as Pastor of St. Thomas the Apostle in Lenoir City. He holds a Bachelor of Arts from St. Meinrad and a Master of Divinity degree from St. Mary of the Lake. dboettner@shcknox.org

Reverend Arthur Torres, Associate Pastor

Fr. Arthur was born in Cali, Colombia and holds a Master of Divinity degree from the Sacred Heart School of Theology in Wisconsin. Fr. Arthur’s diaconate ordination was at St. Mary’s in Johnson City in December of 2012, and he was ordained to the priesthood for the Diocese of Knoxville on December 14, 2013. Fr. Arthur works closely with the Hispanic community on sacraments and spiritual life. He is also the Co-Master of Liturgy at the Cathedral. atorres@shcknox.org

Reverend Marcin Gladysz, Associate Pastor

Fr. Martin Gładysz was born on October 16, 1976, in Krakow. He grew up there and obtained his elementary and secondary education, as well as completed Gastronomic Technical School. His parents, Mark and Leokadia, still live in Krakow, as does his older sister, Edyta, with her family. In 1995, hearing the call to the priesthood, he began his philosophical and theological studies combined with his seminary formation. In 2002, he obtained a master’s degree at the Pontifical Academy of Theology (currently the Pontifical University of John Paul II in Krakow). On May 18, 2002, he was ordained a priest at the Cathedral Basilica of the Holy Family in Częstochowa. mgladysz@shcknox.org

Jake Rodgers, Principal

Mr. Rodgers joined Sacred Heart Cathedral School from Knoxville Catholic High School, where he taught English and served as the 11th Grade Disciplinarian. Before working at Knoxville Catholic, he was the Interim Assistant Upper School Principal at St. David’s School in Raleigh, NC. He holds an M.A. in humanities and philosophy from the University of Dallas and an M.Ed. in Independent School Leadership from Vanderbilt University. He is married to his college sweetheart Rachel and has a daughter named Catherine Clare. jrodgers@shcknox.org

Lisa Maki, Vice Principal

Lisa Maki has been a part of the Sacred Heart Cathedral School community for 21 years. She has served our school as a fourth-grade teacher, an administrator, and most recently as a teacher evaluator. She returns full time as an Assistant Principal this year. Lisa grew up in Pittsburgh, PA and moved to Knoxville from Arlington, TX where her two sons were born. She holds a B.S. degree in Special Education from Kent State University and has 24 years of classroom experience, 18 of which have been in Catholic schools. She received her Catholic educational leadership certification from Loyola Marymount University and has 4 years experience as an Assistant Principal at SHCS.  In her leadership role, she has had the opportunity to work with AdvancED, our school accrediting agency, serving on several Engagement Review Teams, and also served as a team member when our diocesan schools received system-wide accreditation. Lisa is looking forward to a wonderful year of opportunity working with the students, staff, and parents of SHCS.

Libby Orr, Director of Development and Admissions

Libby is from Knoxville, TN and long-time member of Sacred Heart Cathedral. She is a 1997 graduate of Sacred Heart Cathedral School, a 2001 graduate of Knoxville Catholic High School, and a 2005 graduate of The University of Tennessee where she majored in Public Relations. Libby and her husband Wade have three children, Taylor (7), Blair (5) and Sara Lib (2) and one very wild lab. lorr@shcknox.org
