Very Reverend David A. Boettner, V.G., Rector

Fr. David Boettner is the Rector of Sacred Heart Cathedral and was ordained in May 1994. He also serves as the Vicar General and Moderator of the Curia at the Diocese of Knoxville. He has served as Associate Pastor of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Chattanooga, Associate Pastor of Sacred Heart Cathedral, Pastor of St. Mary Church in Athens, and as Pastor of St. Thomas the Apostle in Lenoir City. He holds a Bachelor of Arts from St. Meinrad and a Master of Divinity degree from St. Mary of the Lake. dboettner@shcknox.org


Reverend Arthur Torres, Associate Pastor

Fr. Arthur was born in Cali, Colombia and holds a Master of Divinity degree from the Sacred Heart School of Theology in Wisconsin. Fr. Arthur’s diaconate ordination was at St. Mary’s in Johnson City in December of 2012, and he was ordained to the priesthood for the Diocese of Knoxville on December 14, 2013. Fr. Arthur works closely with the Hispanic community on sacraments and spiritual life. He is also the Co-Master of Liturgy at the Cathedral. atorres@shcknox.org

Reverend Marcin Gladysz, Associate Pastor

Fr. Martin Gładysz was born on October 16, 1976, in Krakow. He grew up there and obtained his elementary and secondary education, as well as completed Gastronomic Technical School. His parents, Mark and Leokadia, still live in Krakow, as does his older sister, Edyta, with her family. In 1995, hearing the call to the priesthood, he began his philosophical and theological studies combined with his seminary formation. In 2002, he obtained a master’s degree at the Pontifical Academy of Theology (currently the Pontifical University of John Paul II in Krakow). On May 18, 2002, he was ordained a priest at the Cathedral Basilica of the Holy Family in Częstochowa. mgladysz@shcknox.org

Mr. Jake Rodgers, Principal

Mr. Rodgers joins Sacred Heart Cathedral School from Knoxville Catholic High School where he has
taught English III AP, Honors, and College Preparatory courses while serving as the 11th Grade
Disciplinarian. He has fourteen years of teaching, coaching and administrative experience in middle
school, high school, and college settings. Prior to working at Knoxville Catholic, he was the Interim
Assistant Upper School Principal at St. David’s School in Raleigh, NC. While there, he also served as the
11th-grade chair, worked in school marketing and advancement, coached basketball and launched the
school’s alumni magazine, serving as its initial copy editor. He holds an M.A. from the University of
Dallas and is a recipient of the prestigious Peabody Honor’s Scholarship at Vanderbilt University where
he is set to complete his M.Ed. in Independent School Leadership in July of this year. He is married to his

Libby Orr, Director of Development & Admissions

Libby is from Knoxville, TN and long-time member of Sacred Heart Cathedral. She is a 1997 graduate of Sacred Heart Cathedral School, a 2001 graduate of Knoxville Catholic High School, and a 2005 graduate of The University of Tennessee where she majored in Public Relations.
