Educating the Whole Child Starts Early
The foundational years of Lower School are a time for curiosity, exploration, and discovery. Balancing both care and challenge, our teachers meet each learner where they are, giving them the foundational tools and knowledge for future growth within a Catholic, Christ-centered classroom environment. As a Catholic school, we welcome children of many different faith traditions who desire to grow in their relationship with God and experience the richness of Catholic education. Our standards-based curriculum is challenging and well-rounded with opportunities for students to flourish in the arts, core subjects, athletics, technology, and faith formation.
Little Eagles (JK)
This is a Junior Kindergarten (JK) transitional program located in the “big school” with the same hours. Students wear uniforms and benefit from privileges typically afforded to older students. For instance, students begin instruction in Spanish, Art, Library, Music, PE, technology, and attend Mass. With two full-time, caring, accomplished educators in each class, this program provides your child with personalized attention in a safe and nurturing environment. The comprehensive curriculum encourages development in faith, social skills, reading readiness, number sense, and problem solving through song, movement, and hands-on learning activities.
Kindergarten
The Kindergarten program continues the foundational process of learning to become readers, writers, listeners, and speakers within a nurturing, faith-filled environment. Each student’s literacy is developed using a comprehensive K-2 phonics program and their curiosity is cultivated through instruction in science, math, social studies, and religion. Teachers work collaboratively to provide engaging activities that meet the needs of each child encouraging curiosity and a love of learning. In keeping with our mission to educate the whole child, there are opportunities in the arts, Spanish, technology and sports. Each Kindergarten class has two full-time teachers.
