Preschool Program
The Preschool is divided into the Infant class, Toddler class, 2-year-old class, 3-year-old class, and two Pre-Kindergarten classes; one for 4-year-olds and another for older 4 and 5-year-olds. Each child experiences a well-planned, child-centered environment that encourages learning through exploration and discovery. Examples of units covered during the year include:

Family | Home | Pets | Fire Safety | Health & Nutrition | Senses | Manners | Emotions

Through these units, many teacher-directed learning activities will take place in math, science, language skills, art, music, dramatic play, and storytime.

Learning/play centers are also an integral part of the preschooler’s learning and social environment. These self-play areas are used to meet various objectives including large and small muscle development, art, reading, and imaginative play.

Our religious education program is designed to help young children at the preschool level discover their individual qualities and importance in God’s Creation. The primary focus is to assist children in developing positive self-concepts through awareness that God has made each of them very special. Through the media of stories, songs, fingerplays, games, dramatization, lesson-related prayer, and sensorial activities, children can sense God’s love for them.

Preschool New Student Registration is over for the 2024-2025 school year. Our next registration will be for the 2025-2026 school year next February.  For more information about our preschool program, please get in touch with Barbara Alfaras, Preschool Director, at balfaras@shcknox.org.
